Courtyard by Marriott New Bern

My room was fantastic and comfortable. The bistro on-site closes earlier than I would like, they stop serving food at 9 and alcohol at 10. The front desk workers were all very courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel at the last minute because of problems with another hotel in the area. From the booking through checkin, the hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful. The hotel is clean and appears to have been renovated recently. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed with a great balcony and river views! The bed was very comfortable. The little Bistro/bar was perfect for a quick dinner and breakfast.....nothing fancy, but the food tasted good, and again the staff were very nice. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Physical property is very standard. You will find clean rooms, appropriate amenities, nothing special. Building is clearly older but is maintained well by housekeeping. Location could not be better. Great views of the water and walking distance to everything you could want. This is the place to stay for no nonsense accommodation and great location.

Rooms are spacious and well laid out, located on the water with a beautiful view of the river.

This hotel and especially the staff exceeded our expectations. I didn’t know what to expect but it’s on the waterfront, has free and plenty of parking, is walking distance to both downtown and a beautiful park and is spotlessly clean. I want to call out two staff members. Fawn checked us in and was very gracious and informative since I asked for help as a tourist. When our stay got challenging due to an unexpected reason, Jenn quickly extended our stay and made sure we had the supplies we needed. Jenn really took care of us in a tough stressful situation. Thank you! Life is good when excellent and positive employees help you out!

Overall, the hotel is in an excellent location, and if you’re able to get a room with a view, it’s really lovely. It’s very convenient to the main downtown area. The rooms are fairly standard, and the price is on the higher side, but you’re mostly paying for the location. I liked having the mini-fridge, though a microwave in the room would’ve been nice. The curtains were old, cracked, and too short to fully block out the sunlight, which let in quite a bit in the morning. I would stay here again, though I’d also consider trying other hotels or bed-and-breakfasts in the area.

This hotel has everything! We loved our stay. The Bistro is perfect for breakfast. We had great service! Tamryn is awesome. It’s also nice for an evening beverage. Every person we encountered was polite, helpful and welcoming! The location is great. You can walk to most things easily. The rate was very reasonable. Highly recommend.
